Putative Father Registry
The Putative Father Registry can help fathers who take responsibility for a child to receive legal notice in an adoption proceeding.
If you think you may have fathered a child, and want to assume responsibility for that child, you must sign up with the Putative Father Registry no later than 10 days after the birth of the baby. You can find out more by calling the Bureau of Vital Records with the New Mexico Department of Health at 1-866-534-0051 or visiting their website at https://nmhealth.org/about/erd/bvrhs/vrp/father.
