Living and Financial Assistance

Adoption Assistance Agency offers FREE counseling and legal services to birthparents.   There are never any fees for our services passed on to the birthparents.  We are here to help you make a plan that is best for your child.

At Adoption Assistance Agency, we know that the financial burdens you are under may be a part of the reason you want to make an adoption plan for your baby.  Our Adoption Specialists are here to help you answer the questions you may have about how to continue your financial responsibilities while pregnant and how the medical expenses of you and the baby will be handled after birth.  We want to make sure you are taken care of throughout this pregnancy and can work with you to answer questions you have about financial support during the adoption process.

Financial assistance is available during the pregnancy and up to 4 weeks post-partum. 

Help can be provided for :

  • Housing
  • Utilities
  • Groceries
  • Medical care
  • Transportation
In addition to financial support we may be able to offer you, we will help you with establishing a stable living situation, counseling for relational issues, support for obtaining medical care, and a personal caseworker to help with planning and carrying out your adoption plan. 
Beyond that, we will provide you post-adoption counseling until the child you placed reaches 18 years of age at no charge (as long as the agency remains in business).   We do not want to leave you alone to deal with your feelings after the baby is born.  
If you have chosen an open adoption plan, you will begin to receive letters and pictures of the baby, which may come through the agency directly to you, if you choose.
