How do we screen adoptive families?
At Adoption Assistance Agency we receive many inquiries from adoptive parents. Every adoptive family that applies goes through a thorough application and screening process even before their application is approved.
When an application for adoption is approved, our adoptive parents go through a comprehensive home study process. This assessment includes, extensive background checks, employment information and income verifications, medical evaluations, as well as criminal records checks on the local, state, and national levels, and checks for child abuse, neglect, and sex offenses. In addition, all families will meet state and agency requirements for adopting a baby in New Mexico. All adoptive families on our website, and viewed through our office will have an approved home study and be financially, emotionally and physically capable of, and ready to, welcome a baby into their home and family. We take seriously the responsibility of thoroughly screening an adoptive family for your baby!
